And the Gold Medal goes to…

…Estonia in the girl’s championship while Sweden took the first prize in the boy’s event.

It was a difficult last day – light but stable winds were waiting for the competitors and the race committee. The PRO Andrea Martens started the girls first in 7-8 knots SSW for their 10th race which was won by the Austrian Anna Luschan. Kätlin Tammiste from Estonia finished second and this lifted her up on the top step of the podium. Cajsa Svensdotter from Sweden came fourth, a result which secured her silver medal. Finally Anne Mette Laugesen from Denmark managed to finish just one place behind the Austrian girl Valentina Faihs, who started the day with the yellow leader dot.

The final results now show EST 70 with 33 points, SWE 94 with 34 points, DEN 106 with 35 points and the unlucky AUT 121 with 36 points

Now the boys:

Victor Silen managed to win the last race in front of Calvin Claus and the new European Champion Pontus Dahl. For Georg Haud from Estonia was the fifth place enough to secure the silver medal as the Austrian Marino Müller did only finish on 15th place.

The final results are SWE 194 with 20 points, EST 65 with 25, and FIN 535 with 28 points.
